White jeans are a necessary part of this summer, but they come in many different models; the classical remains tight and completely plain, which is why I believe it’s a piece we can always wear and it always comes in handy. Ankle length, with a nicely formed back part and pockets, they’re a quick solution for every possible combination, because they nicely complement a plain T-shirt, sweater, blouse or shirt, and they combine together beautifully with a blazer. It’s the latter that rules female wardrobe in the warm season, and white jeans are their perfect partner, a real must have. So, if you’re contemplating buying a pair or already own one, you can try wearing them in nautical style: dark blue and white stripes, red and white or black and white remain eternal, as well as dots or every polka dot pattern. Floral prints are another good choice, whether it’s larger or smaller, and also country style blouses: with wider sleeves, tighter at the wrists, with strings and pompoms or lace. All of these details make the whole white jeans look more interesting and you can also bring it up a notch by wearing high heels or nice flat sandals; leather, with pompoms or turquoise, unusual pointy ballet flats … The choice of footwear is just as varied.
Total white is another look that works really well, meaning all white everything, because it’s a summer colour and you can’t go wrong with it. If you prefer a more alternative model of jeans, you can try boyfriend models or ripped jeans. The summer is all about ripped models, which are a lot easier to wear than in the winter, and perhaps summer is precisely the time to let it rip, although I would advise some moderation. Another winning combination is black and white: classical, clean and quite likeable. Choose a strong colour top for a pop-up moment: white has no limitations and everything goes with it; and the colours of the summer are blue, emerald, yellow, orange, a lot of turquoise and light blue, violet. If you’re more of a no frills and modern kind of woman, go for petite squares or Vichy pattern; a men’s shirt and white pants are a top combination, and choose very high sandals or pumps and a small or clutch bag to even it out.
Play around with accessories, especially if you choose to wear less colours, make the jewellery set the tone. This summer, silver is making a comeback, originating in the ethno style. Boho chic has a great influence in the fashion world at the moment, so wear an off the shoulders blouse with an updo and big earrings, for instance, or you can just wear a plain T-shirt and a statement necklace. Don’t forget, summer is the time to be bold and creative ‒ all we need is some imagination and to give into fashion, because it will always guide us in the best way possible.
