I admit, I don’t enjoy getting up early, simply because I always go to bed too late. At the same time, I realise how magical mornings can be. Quiet and full of light, while the world is slowly waking up. These are the qualities of summer mornings that I sincerely believe can make us happier and filled with the natural beauty of the world that welcomes our steps and thoughts each day, if only we know how to catch them. And we don’t need much in order to do that.
Prepare your outfit the night before
Even though I mostly swear by morning inspirations, I know that this is the golden rule that simplifies our lives. Every time I prepare my outfit, undergarments and shoes the night before, the next morning goes by smoothly and playfully, there’s more time to spend drinking my coffee, flipping through my favourite magazine or just being lazy in the kitchen, which I enjoy endlessly.
15 minutes of evening cleaning
Do the dishes, put the most urgent things away in the living room so they’re not waiting for you in the morning. It’s nice to wake up when everything is where it should be. Of course, if you have kids, chaos is part of the daily menu, but still – don’t allow the chores to wait for you at seven in the morning, because it’s so much easier finishing them in the evening.
This is a crucial ritual for a beautiful start of the day. Have some coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, bread and butter with honey, fruit or whatever you prefer. Eat slowly and appreciate every bite, take at least half an hour to have your breakfast and you won’t regret it, because you’ll start the day more energized.
Give yourself time
In the end, it’s all about the time you take only for yourself. What are your morning rituals, what do you like the most? Mornings are magical, don’t underestimate them, because this time can become yours alone. And if it’s not something you’re able to do all year round, at least claim your mornings in the summertime, on your vacation or whenever the pace of life comes down a notch.
Go to bed at a reasonable hour
The best sleep happens after 10 p. m. I know this sounds like science fiction to a modern woman, but it’s still good to try going to bed earlier to give your organism the highest quality of sleep. You can do some light reading in the evening, nothing too demanding, just something to relax with, such as some positive thoughts. For a good night’s sleep and an even more beautiful morning.
