Graceful Story

Five comfortable outfits for this month

Temperatures are starting to rise, and that’s definitely good news, and consequently our wardrobe starts changing. So, hooray! for higher temperatures, blazers, ballet flats, and lighter spring coats that hold a lot of promise. I’ve been enjoying the changing wardrobe these past couple of days, and looking forward to the moment I finally get to put away the heavy winter jacket, because, you know, lighter clothes have an entirely different way of caressing the soul, and allow for freedom of movement. So this time I chose five combinations, all flats-appropriate, that you can start wearing immediately, and they will bring some colour to March.

Sweater and white shirt

The secret is to choose a nice sweater, a cotton one will do the trick, and the compact fabric will prevent it from stretching. Add a classic white shirt underneath to spice up the look.

Beiges and sands

Light shades always look great, and that’s the key. On top of that, they breathe spring and freshness. We’ve said this countless times, but light colours, even head-to-toe, are very graceful. Accessories can either stay light, or choose something contrasting.

Wide knee-length skirt

I’m in love with this model, because it emphasises women’s curves beautifully, plus you can wear it with sneakers, ballet flats, or flat sandals. It has a certain measure of elegance and looks polished, which makes it suitable for any occasion. Style it with a blouse to make the most of it and bring emphasis to the waistline.

A bit of Audrey

Meaning black, white, and stripes, of course. Add a pair of dark sunglasses and wear pointed ballet flats, because they’re very trendy this season; and while they may not be the most comfortable footwear, they make up for it with their styling possibilities. Accessories have to be very elegant: small bag, small pieces of jewellery, and some good perfume, that’s it.

Timeless black

The perfect and ultimate contrast to white, is blackness, which, of course, works regardless of the season. Personally, I’m more of a colour and lighter shades person myself, but one has to admit that black has its allure. Deep, mysterious, and sexy in a way. Don’t overdo it though, because spring is in the air, after all, and it calls for freshness … It’s good to opt for some light at the end of a long winter, wouldn’t you say?
