It is not my intention to offend anybody, but I have been brooding over the title of this article for the past half an hour and this one seems the most appropriate. Fashion may well be a matter of taste, as you all know, and I can easily believe that there will be a reader among you that loves the new models of heels, but I am not one of them. Unfortunately, I’ve been looking at them for months now and I’m still not okay with them. I just got used to kitten heels, which was definitely a challenge for me, because I love thin high heels, and here come new models that are neither attractive nor feminine.

Low and thick heels are the least painful among them; so they look like they were made for elderly ladies, but that’s still better than the thin, twisted, pointy heels, ones with wooden balls or acrylic glass, to name just a few. I always thought that shoes were there to make the female foot look prettier and now I just wonder, what message creators and fashion in general is sending us, but I can’t seem to get it. To keep from getting too critical, because as you well know, that’s not my role here, I have to say that lower heels are comfortable and they’re definitely more stable and appropriate for staying on your feet all day long. I’d like to hear a male opinion on the topic, because the “stronger” sex usually frowned at ballet flats up until now, so I’m interested in their thoughts on the matter.

All in all, I can’t seem to find a trace of femininity. And okay, a friend of mine told me that kitten heels were introduced by Brigitte Bardot, which a didn’t know, because I was sure it was Audrey, so it got a bit easier to adopt them. But what about these models? History is probably repeating itself and I suppose a few of these models will stick around, but I still hope that Christian Louboutin just had a bad day and that was the only reason he drew a model, reminiscent of the plastic sandals we used to wear back in the day to prevent stepping on sea urchins. I guess, it can happen to anybody and I forgive him, in the hopes, of course, that the next collection will be somewhat more…normal.
