How to style white sneakers

From classic white trainers to chunky retro kicks, the fashion set’s infatuation with sneakers isn’t ending any time soon. Spring will be soon here and the white sneaker remains a must have piece of our wardrobe. The reason is very simple: it is cool, young, fresh and somehow elegant, when you combine it with a suit or a nice skirt. Wearing white sneakers with jeans is the most common way to wear them, but it is not the only one!

Wearing white sneakers with a dress isn’t hard! Of course, you wouldn’t want to wear white sneakers with your LBD out on a dinner date (because your favorite heels deserve that spotlight), but if you’re a fan of dresses for casual wear these totally work. Beside everything, nothing is more American than a pair of white sneakers. Canvas sneakers still exist, but leather sneakers are king right now!  And I love that because I’m always wiping my shoes clean.

Keeping white sneakers looking white is actually very easy.  You simply have to clean them! No I’m serious, in order to keep your white sneakers looking white you need to clean them after each wear.  I simply wipe them down with a wet cloth when I am done with them.  Water usually does the trick, but adding some bar soap will enhance the cleaning. If the sneakers have groves you may need to get a toothbrush and scrub them a little bit.  A little elbow grease can go a long way to keeping your white sneakers white forever!  You can also polish them if they need a pick me up.  A small amount of white polish can go a long way to freshen up your sneakers.
