Throughout history bowties had been associated as a strictly male accessory until the 1920s when they officially began to be introduced in women’s wear as a form of gender bending. Women chose to either wear bowties around their neck or wear a more subtle form of the bowtie, a ribbon. Since then fashion has evolved and bows are now a big trend, hitting blouses, skirts, accessorises, dresses, head bands, shoes. This blouse puts together three big summer trends: the puff sleeves, the bow and the ruffles. Plus I can add an amazing shade of blue and the eternal polka dot motive. I decided to combine it with a simple pair of whit pants, but it is amazing also with shorts and flat sandals, or a good pair of jeans. A very versatile piece of my wardrobe, that I already adore.
My style is as follows: blousa &Other Stories, pants Max Mara, sandals Steve Madden, bag Skinny Dip London, ring Bronzallure, head band Anthropologie, earrings JCrew.
