If you want a small, but successful and noticeable change, try bangs. This interesting hairstyle that is going to rule this summer often comes with a nice, natural hair volume, which creates a lovely contrast between the usually straight bangs and the rest of your hair. Go ahead and make the cut, just not too short ‒ although there are some extremely short bangs here and there, it’s more the soft and quite wearable shapes that will grow out enough by September so that you’ll be able to swipe them to the side or wear them tucked behind your ear. Of course, the colours follow the natural trend and there are no drastic shades, and you can actually always go for lighter ends and slight waves that are supposed to look messy, as if they were a mere coincidence. You can achieve this effect by using the right products (everything along the lines of wet look will work) and a hair iron: make sure to only curl the ends of your hair, never the the full length.
Higher summer temperatures require good protection for your hair: it’s mostly oils that keep it soft and least damaged; I’m saying least, because by trimming it a bit after the summer’s over you will ensure that your hair will maintain a healthy glow, as the sea, sun, iron and salt will usually damage it. You can create extra waves by braiding your hair while it’s still damp: just like in old times, go to bed with a braid and weave it out in the morning. The result is very natural and simply beautiful, and it holds for a couple of days. For more volume, use foam: it’s important to apply it close to the scalp and not on the full length of the hair, otherwise it will get dirty quicker and consequently fall heavier.
You can use hair extensions for special occasions, you fasten them by using a bandeau. It’s a quick and always rewarding decision, which is definitely better than permanent hair extensions, because this makes your hair look tired and often damaged. Every store that sells hair products also has bandeaus, which are perfect for getting some extra volume, and, often, for getting some extra length. There are also “faux” bangs, of course, but be careful because they can appear pretty unreal. So, if you think bangs would look good on you, just cut your own hair ‒ it doesn’t have to be that short and it will grow back out quickly, and assimilate into normal part of your hair, nobody will even be able to notice it’s shorter in front.
The short hair aficionados will get their five minutes: bangs enrich boyish hairstyles, and while you probably can’t get any waves, hair will still be nicely structured, especially near the face. You can make bangs more interesting by adding a different shade in the lower part: the colour-play adds to the volume. And another thing: all bangs look wonderful with a braid and a messy bun, which are an absolute must this summer. Not only this: the winter of 2017 will have an enormous amount of them, and you start catching the right wave length now!
