Some love them, some don’t. Boots are a very specific fashion accessory: you either love them completely, or you simply are not a fan. And then there are also women who stay undecided, I fall into this category myself. I’ll put it like this: I really like boots, when I see them on other women, but I have a hard time deciding to wear them myself. I find them tolerable, if they’re lower, I look at them suspiciously, if they’re over the knees, I like them, if they’re made of velvet, and I think cowboy boots are sexy, especially on men. All in all: love and sympathy, closely followed by the undisputed fact that boots are the best winter footwear, because they keep us warm and are appropriate for any occasion.

This winter, there are quite a few models to choose from. Cowboy boots remain popular and we often see It-girls wearing them with a skirt. Personally, I prefer a combination with jeans or leather pants, but you have to mind the model, because the boots are rather wide, so skinny pants aren’t an option. They look great with a maxi skirt or dress, it creates an always fashionable Boho style. And then there are velvet boots, a novelty, full of colors: either burgundy, electric blue, green, or classic black‒they will ensure that your style is great. They’re very comfortable and usually have a low heel, which is a good thing.

Army boots remain popular as well: low, military, black with lacing, sometimes even buckles, studs and appliqués. They look nice with trousers and are great for all the rockabilly moments that inspire us once in a while. I still see them in combination with a gingham shirt or ripped jeans and lace blouse. Another style to check out are sock-like fit boots, which you wear as though they were second skin and again, they come in many lively colors that you go crazy about as soon as you see them.

All of the models I’ve mentioned have reasonable mid heels, which is a smart choice, if you’re looking for an everyday pair of boots. And if the heel is higher, it’s also thicker and more stablel, which enables a lighter and swifter step. The heels are the place, where a lot is going on, the lovely decoration of pearls is the latest trend. And if you’re wondering about glittery effect, rest assured, it’s very fashionable and not reserved for the evening.
