Graceful Story

Kate Winslet: the forty-year old with wonderful makeup

It seems to me that there is a lot of talk about her and not just because she recently received the Golden Globe Award for her supporting act in the Steve Jobs movie, or because she is nominated for an Oscar. Kate has a freshness and a gentle beauty inside of her, she does and does not show her age at the same time, because she always dresses for the part and stays just unavailable enough that we can’t hold against her any style mistakes or anything else for that matter, because there isn’t that much that we know about her. Considering that she has a fair complexion and fair hair she doesn’t need much makeup to look flawless, accenting the lips or the eyes (rarely both) is enough to make her glow instantly.

Red lipstick

She chooses quite strong shades and so all the attention goes to her lips. This is a great trick for blondes that usually can’t wear layers upon layers of makeup without feeling overly exposed. The shade of lipstick is nevertheless quite vibrant, relatively light and noticeable.

Golden colour for the inner corners of the eye

This is another simple trick that opens up your gaze and gives it freshness. You can dab the golden colour with a finger, the result is always the same: combine it with nude and natural shades of eye shadow and don’t overdo it: less is more.

Natural makeup

I like her best like this, she’s simply perfect and I think that pink tones suit her well. As you can see, the lipstick is totally summery and the eye shadow is somewhere between light pink and nude. She also accented the cheeks nicely with some blush.

Accented eyes

Kate doesn’t fool around with smokey eyes, but she puts eyeliner to good use and raises the eyelid slightly. The black line looks a bit retro and is beautifully combined with natural eye shadows and a somewhat orange lipstick.

Flawless complexion

It’s all about good skincare and choosing the right foundation: I like the natural colour and blushed cheeks, because they bring some dewiness and youth. There isn’t much contouring on the face ‒ everything looks perfectly natural.
