It’s always the same routine in the mornings, isn’t it: you stand in front of the closet and just can’t seem to find the inspiration, or you get the feeling that no matter how full the closet is, there’s nothing for you to wear. Time is of the essence, however, and it is the most precious thing we’ve got, so it would be wise to solve all unnecessary problems and form a new routine that will improve our living. An organised closet is a mirror to an organised life. There is nothing worse than overflowing hangers and pieces that we haven’t put on in years, because they create confusion and draw bad energy. Clothing should rotate, and if there’s something you don’t wear, sell it or give it away, just don’t keep things around “just in case”, because you know as well as I do, there won’t be any cases like that. We’re all in a hurry in the morning, trying to do more in less time, so it’s best to follow a few simple rules, and life will quickly get simpler, at least in the fashion sense.
Pick an outfit the day before
The worst thing to do is to wear whatever catches your eye in the morning; you might not be in the best mood, or maybe you didn’t sleep well and you’re tired or worried. The result is we quickly and unwisely choose an outfit that turns out inappropriate. Choose your outfit the night before, especially, if you have an important meeting scheduled ‒ it will save you a lot of precious time.
Opt for simple, but effective combinations, if you’re feeling down
Blazer, jeans, and gorgeous pumps; or a knee-length dress, long knitwear, and pumps or boots; black high-waisted pants, lovely and elegant shorter sweater (make sure to choose a colourful one!), flat shoes, and a small bag. These are all simple combinations that always work and are appropriate for any occasion. That’s why you should have several blazers and sweaters in your closet ‒ they’ll help you change the combinations, while keeping true to your style, and you’ll always look flawless.
Mind the shoes
Have a backup option regarding shoes; I know from personal experience that a sleepless night means you won’t be able to spend the whole day wearing high heels, because it would be exhausting, so always keep an extra pair of shoes in mind, just in case. The same goes for the weather: if it’s raining or snowing in the morning, rethink the shoes.
Simple wardrobe and spectacular jewellery
Blazer, jeans, and a basic T-shirt, styled with sneakers to be 100 % comfortable. This simple outfit is calling for some statement jewellery. Keep a special place for your collection, such as a shoe box or something similar, so it’s tidy and ready to use. I keep my long necklaces on hangers, otherwise they get all tangled, that way I know very well that I won’t have time to untangle them. This way they’re ready and it saves me some time. I keep my rings in a separate box, my bracelets in another, so I can find things quickly, because I get furious, when things are a mess and I lose track of things.
Keep your spirits up
This is important, otherwise a bad mood can spoil your sense of fashion, or rather the will to choose an outfit that’ll make you feel beautiful and elegant. I strongly believe that we can improve our mood with the help of an outfit and beautiful makeup, so don’t miss the chance, and take a few extra minutes for the ritual that can be very feminine and graceful, if you do it with a smile. My advice is order. That’s the whole secret: you’ll be more efficient with your closet in order, and your routine won’t take nearly as much time. This goes for everything from underwear to jewellery, from shoes to makeup. Everything deserves its own place, don’t you forget it.
