We really do want to remember our heritage. We really do want to reconnect with the earth (it is calling out so loudly to us right now). We really do want to step back into the power that we know resides within us. It doesn’t matter what ethnicity you are — once upon a time ago, we all lived in tribal cultures, living off the land. We relied on the plant world for food and medicine. This was very commonly the women’s domain: healing and medicine making. Even spiritual healing and nourishment. Back then, our jobs were considered important to our communities. Our knowledge of the earth and even our connection to the unseen world were respected.
There were all kinds of names for us, depending on our culture and language. One of those names, as we have come to recognize, is “witch.” A witch is a woman in her power. She’s wise, a healer—someone who is aligned with the cycles of nature and the phases of the moon. She’s in touch with the dark. She knows how to witness, how to let things go, how to follow her own counsel. Every woman is a witch, whether she knows it or not. She’s cyclic, she’s powerful, she can embrace nature to heal herself and her community. In other words, she is magic.
Is there a better moment than the end of October, to listen to your inner witch? I don’t think so. One of the reasons why people aren’t hearing their intuition or trusting it or following through on it is because there is no space for it to come in. Whether you sneak away for a brisk nature walk or meditate in your car before work, incorporating more quiet time into your day to just be present and listen to what’s coming up for you will make all the difference. Although we refer to it as an “inner voice,” your intuition might not manifest itself as a voice at all. It might just be a feeling. Intuition often comes through your emotions. Your emotions are simply feedback. It’s a part of you attempting to get your attention.
Whether you realize it or not, your inner voice has a pattern. It will usually speak to you in similar ways so that you can learn to tune into it. It’s about cultivating a new relationship with that intuitive voice. Similar to any other relationship, you have to get to know it. You have to understand how it sounds and the things that it says. The witch is calling, she is an amazing woman, a wise person, she is kind, lovely and yes, a part of you. She is a woman and that says it all. It’s like you plant a seed in the garden and it will start to naturally grow.
Can’t hear your inner voice? Ask it to speak up. Start by pinpointing where you feel the confusion in your body; this helps separate yourself from the feeling. Maybe it’s tension in your shoulders or pressure in your head. This starts to create that space between your higher self and the confusion. The confusion is not who you are. We have a Blue Moon coming up on October 31, 2020. It’ll be called a Blue Moon because it’ll be the 2nd of 2 full moons in a single calendar month. According to astronomers, we will all see a 100%-illuminated Halloween full Moon (after 2020) in the years 2039, 2058, 2077, and 2096. Take time to look up in the sky and find not just the blue moon, but a new you.
Times are changing and we will be fine.
