It’s the 31st of December and another year is coming to an end. While I’m looking forward to a new year, I’m also fully present and focused on enjoying life. I must say, it took me years to work myself in a position to do that. Every year brings its own unique set of victories and defeats, struggles and joys. Whatever season of life you’re in at the moment, it’s important to reflect on how the year went so you can adjust your sails. Look back, reflect, take some downtime to recharge, then you can get ready to move on to the new year with a clear mind and a positive attitude.
It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over
Paulo Coelho
What feels like the end is often the beginning. December is a time of reflection, this has been such a wonderful year for me in many ways. It’s had it’s highs and lows like all years do, but mostly I just feel so much gratitude for my life, my home, my business, and the amazing humans that I get to share my life with. I want to focus on the positive and release the negative. Life is short, & moments are precious. It’s important to show ourselves some kindness, take better care of ourselves and meet our own needs. To feel good you need to do things that will make yourself feel good.
Every single year, we’re a different person. I don’t think we’re the same person all of our lives
Steven Spielberg
I personally feel excited for the end of the year to come to a close and start anew. I also see this as a time of reflection on how well I did this year. I hope we all sit and rummage through our memories of the year. In the end, we should decide to not regret anything but take everything as a lesson. Lessons that we learned and allowed us to move forward to become a better person. Every day and every minute is another chance for us to get it right, but it’s something about the new year that inspires us all. No matter how your year went, as long as you feel inspired to do better, then you are already succeeding.
Out with the old, in with the new: may you be happy the whole year through. Happy New Year!
