You have probably noticed there are lots of prints out there in the world at the moment and it’s almost unimaginable trying them all out in one summer, but still … The fact is we can mix and match them, create a lovely mess, decide on stripes or florals only, and even let prints enter the world of swimwear. There is an abundance of possibilities and we can achieve a look that will definitely not go unnoticed by using a bit of imagination.
Long skirts and dresses, wide pants and blouses, everything is full of prints and colours are their playground. The most important thing is to keep the base harmonious and joyful. Keep in mind you shouldn’t exaggerate the number of colours, if you opt for a variety mix‒the prints themselves will do the trick. Your best bet is deciding on three compatible print colours and then start mixing stripes with florals and the rest.
You can use stripes as your canvas. Your striped T-shirt is a piece you can style your entire wardrobe with, in this sense. You cannot go wrong with it, so give it your best! Large floral patterns are a welcome choice, but consider your figure as they can visually widen you. Check out the way It-girls interpret this trend, if you need any additional inspiration. They all do their own stylings and don’t even try hard to combine harmonious pieces. But then again, whatever Olivia Palermo puts on suits her, which makes her an exception.
Gingham pieces play their part as well. Whether it’s a fine print or a wider one, it always looks a bit country, which makes it ideal to style with jeans and denim pieces. Summer is the time, when we can get away with a fashion experiment, at least I always get the feeling anything is allowed. And prints are the perfect choice for such endeavours.

Lovely trend!
As long as the prints have at least one color in common, you can use contrasting colors. Match colors, not prints.
There is one very important tip to follow while mixing your favorite prints: stay in the same color family.
