There is a magical word in my personal dictionary, one I probably say every day: blazer. It’s the wonderful piece that is just the perfect amount of elegant, which makes sure we’re always dressed top notch and look perfectly attractive. It works with jeans and heels in everyday life, although it was first made in combination with the same style trousers; we’ve learnt a long time ago that it’s almost too serious that way. If there is a piece that embodies the best investment on this planet, it has to be a blazer: longer, tailored, not necessarily black (although you will need that one as well, just like a little black dress). It solves every conundrum and it will never go out of style. What are its best combinations? There are many, but I chose a few favorites for you.
Blazer and contrasting trousers
If we don’t want to wear it with the same style pants, then it’s best to opt for opposites. Black blazer and white trousers, perhaps a floral blazer and block color pants, or play around with pastels, even glitter, stripes or polka dots. In short, you have your top and your bottom, they create two different stories, which is very desirable.
Blazer and maxi skirt or dress
It’s a very sophisticated combination and it works like a charm. I also like it, because we usually wonder what to wear with a long skirt or dress to keep us from getting cold. A blazer is long enough and elegant, so it goes with this outfit wonderfully. Opt for glitter or smoking version for special occasions.
Blazer and tulle skirt
Another favorite! I love the contrast and a tulle skirt to me is a truly handy piece, we don’t wear often enough, unfortunately. We’re probably shy because of the dreaded “ballerina” effect, but it’s perfectly wearable and elegant with the right accessories. Black is a timeless color, but you can also opt for something fresher and more sophisticated.
Blazer and short skirt
Mini or knee-length, what’s important is that it’s tight. Keep in mind that all blazers are tailored in a way that makes them stick out a bit, so it’s best not to style them with wide or A-line skirts. A straight shape is better, even midi has its own appeal, for instance with a high waist and below the knees. I know you’ll find the right one at a time of tartan and velvet!
Blazer and jeans
Very simple and even more efficient. There are many reasons, but what stands out most is that jeans are a sporty piece and an elegant blazer brings the perfect balance, which makes it a good choice. Be it summer or winter, seasons play no role, opt for light shades as well, because they will enliven the outfit. Wear shoes with a heel, black or nude, and choose leather accessories.
