Women always have trouble with their foundation and sometimes half a life goes by before we find the right one. At times, the issue is the skin itself, because it requires certain textures and better brands, other times we have blemishes, wrinkles, spots, imperfections of all sorts or just a very pronounced T zone that always shines too much. If you find yourself in this category, it’s possible that you can’t find the right foundation because you make certain mistakes that lead you to the wrong product. And the result is wrong colour, your skin seems oily, the flaws aren’t covered. Is there a solution? I think there always is, as there is a solution for this problem as well, but you should pay extra attention to the following.
You don’t use the right peeling
Keep in mind that skin needs to be completely clean and smooth. Don’t overdo the peeling, because you can harm your skin, but its good to do it once a week, even if you use a milder product. Skin glows after each peeling, which is excellent, because it helps you look better.
You don’t use the right colour
This is perhaps the most common makeup mistake, because foundations are usually pink or yellow, and what you need is the right color for a specific skin type. Keep in mind that the whole face doesn’t have to be the same shade. Stay away from dark foundations, they’re totally out and above all, they age you, and forget about the orange ones. It’s important to test it in the daylight, so demand samples.
You don’t use primer
Primer is ideal for everyone with imperfections, among which there are, of course, wrinkles. Every primer will smooth out the area around your eyes and make sure you look fresh, while it ensures that your make up stays set all day long, which is most important. Almost every brand has their own primers, just make sure they’re fluid enough, so the tube forms are a smarter choice than the thicker cream versions.
You don’t use the right texture
Some foundations are very fluid, others have a richer substance, some provide very good coverage and others are sheer … Every skin and every season require their own texture. The foundation you use in the summer is generally not suitable for winter days. You can stay true to the colour, but the texture has to change.
You don’t use powder
Powder is the product that makes sure that the result is fixed and flawless. Your best option is to use a completely translucent powder, because it looks very natural and simply beautiful. Always apply it with a brush or a clean makeup sponge, especially on the T zone.
You don’t use the right brushes and sponges
It’s true, you’ll probably use more of your product with these tools, but it will also make a big difference in the results you get. The sponges are especially useful, while the brushes are a bit more difficult. Cleanliness is important: disinfect, change them and in general have a responsible attitude toward them, because old product residue is often the cause for spots. And another thing: don’t lend them.
