I suppose that you’re going to frown, judging from my own experience that is. But still, this year’s fashion is quite gender-equal, which can be a good thing, because you get to peek through his wardrobe for your daily inspiration. Although ultra violet has been pronounced color of the year, it’s actually pink that keeps popping up everywhere you look. Pale, bold, or simply just your own perfect shade of choice are all options, and if you think your man will steer clear of the color, perhaps he should give a light shade of wisteria a try. There are also baby blues and powdery yellows and gentle greens, so it’s no joking matter.
Men are bold and when you’ve traveled around the world, you quickly notice that some are very in tune with fashion. I know, they can lose a bit of their masculine side, but it’s just an experiment, after all, which they know how to pull off. In the end, fashion is all about making us feel beautiful. And that’s why I like this men’s challenge so much, because I am aware that it’s not everybody’s cup of tea and I’m quite sure that the older generation will make a funny face, just as we did, when Balenciaga presented its Crocs. But that still doesn’t mean that that particular style won’t find any takers. I also know that men can look super cute even in a pink shirt, I only haven’t gotten used to their cropped pants with hairy legs peeking out and wearing shoes on bare feet. But in the end, that’s only my own problem.
Accessories will make all the difference, if you want to stand out and add a personal touch. Socks with dots or stripes, hats, interesting ties or a simple rockabilly style with swept-back longer hair, a beard, which is almost a must, and the I-don’t-give-a damn attitude, even if they actually do care. And they do. And since we take all the ugly, or at least strange looking shoes, you should know that they have not been spared: from oversized sneakers, which they style with elegant suits, to flip flops, also worn with silk or linen ensembles. Bizarre, but I think the young ones are going to like it. And if you take a closer look at the street styles, you’ll quickly realize that the kids aren’t blind, nor are they deaf. They are also much more daring than we ever were. And our men can see and hear just fine as well, which is good news, isn’t it?As juicy as sorbet and as vibrant as the rainbow. The style isn’t for everybody, but still, I’d like to be able to admire it in our little corner of the world as well.
