Four Must-Have Lipsticks

Women can be quite sensitive when it comes to lipstick and let’s be honest, even though it’s true that matte hues are fashionable right now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re right for every woman. When it comes to lipstick, it’s a good thing to have more than one shade in your bag, because it’s nearly impossible to find one that goes with every outfit and is appropriate for every occasion. So I selected four different hues, which I believe are a really good choice; I use them myself and they always come in handy. With red or strong hues mind the foundation, because this colour emphasises facial imperfections, so the key is to have or create perfect skin. The last trends don’t demand nude eyes and red lipstick; you can do stronger eye makeup to go with the strong lipstick hue, but remember that this goes for evening makeup and rather choose one or the other in the day time. Too much makeup can also make you seem older, so keep that in mind and try not to go over-board.

Nude, the natural hue lipstick

It’s the must-have of every season and also the one you’ll be the quickest to wear. I always add a bit of gloss, since it otherwise doesn’t stand out enough and even though matte is in, I prefer going for something greasy that doesn’t collect. In my opinion, Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte 2 is an excellent choice.

Intensively red lipstick

Every woman has to find the hue that suits her best, because red is really rather sensitive because it changes on your lips. If they are naturally darker, you find it easy to use a darker lipstick, but if they are lighter, you should mind the lighter shades. I generally believe that a bright red is very demanding and I prefer slightly darker shades. My choice is Tom Ford 11 Crimson Noir.

Dark red lipstick

This is definitely one of my favourite hues, totally wintery, makes your teeth incredibly white 🙂 and demands a contour pencil. Take some time for this, because you can’t just apply it in one stroke, but it’s very long-lasting, it doesn’t collect and is very sexy. I like it in combination with golden eye shadow or eyeliner, black pencil for an inner line and long lashes are a must. My hue is Chanel Rouge Coco Rouge Noir.

Pink, but not too much lipstick

The hue is somewhere between pink and nude, maybe even with a hint of violet; just enough to give it the right amount of colour. I’m not one for Barbie pink lipsticks and I abhor orange. When I see yellow teeth, it makes me want to leave, so I don’t want to promote hues that age a person and are difficult to wear. So find a colour between nude and pink, and if necessary, make it more intense with some gloss in your desired hue. When it comes to pink, my choice is Clarins 705 Joli Rouge.
