Style of the day: the knit lilac dress

The versatility of the knitted dress makes it a great option for day-to-night wear. Swap sneakers for strappy heels, add a chunky necklace or hoops and you’ve got an easy yet striking evening look that will hold up against the winter chill. Mini or midi versions can look polished with help from this season’s trending knee-high boot, while autumn’s other popular shoe style, the ballet flat, gives a little Parisian flare to a slouchy, oversized silhouette. This season, you’ll also see plenty of maxi versions, which pair equally well with a sharp blazer and with a long tailored coat. My choice is a super elegant and feminine knitted dress in lilac, one of my favorite colors. I love the possibility to wear it in a total purple look.
