Lilac and powder blue are my favorite shades, not just for Spring, also in Autumn. And it looks like digital lavender won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. A quick search for “how to style lavender” on TikTok brings up hundreds of fashion videos, many of which have racked up tens of thousands of views. Beauty videos on the app which feature purple blush have also spiked lately, with the hashtag #purpleblush bringing up videos with a total of 41.5 million views.
Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.
You can call it aubergine, burgundy, plum, garnet, or mauve, but that’s less important than the fact that purple, when used correctly, can be your new go-to neutral. Because it’s different and looks hard to pull off (don’t worry, it isn’t), wearing a plum suit will immediately place you in a more advanced class of womenswear-ers. My choice for today is this lavender suit that goes so well with ivory, but I have tried it even with a pair of simple sneakers, or with a same color top. Violet on violet goes always so well!
My style is as follows: suit Mango, silk top Pinko, shoes Mass, bag Tory Burch, jewels Michael Kors and Comma.
