Natural everyday makeup with Rimmel ‒ how to

When I think of Kate Moss, the thought goes to her high cheek bones. Really. I don’t think they’ve changed at all over the years, they still look exactly as they did when she was 17and started stirring the fashion and beauty world with her androgynous look. Eternal Kate, who has been the face of the very accessible cosmetics brand Rimmel London, and uses it to sell us dreams: not only about her high cheekbones, but also smoky eyes, which are a signature of her wild nights, the red lips (and hers are really flawless, heart-shaped perfection), porcelain skin, using the right foundation, of course. I find it really fascinating that Kate is the face of Charlotte Tilbury, the legendary English makeup artist, who is of course, also her best friend, and at the same time a world known brand such as Rimmel, which has very affordable, yet still high quality products.

I wanted to test some of their products and I have to say I’m impressed. I was most interested in nude lips, new contouring with a gorgeous pink, their perfect tan foundation and a palette of warm brown shades for smoky eyes. I received all of this with instructions on how to contour and shade my face correctly, and even though I have been part of this world for a long time now, I’m still interested in these things, because I believe I can always learn something new and useful. Another fact is that every woman changes with years, and so should certain makeup tricks, so in a time of countless Youtube videos with women who use 10 different concealers and foundations to achieve the final look, these products were truly refreshing.

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation has an excellent texture, I love the brush application, and the 201 Classic Beige shade is perfect for fair skin tones. I used Stay Matte pressed powder to literally stay matte, and finished by adding some of the now famous Sculpting Palette in the 001 Golden Sands shade. Three steps for an amazingly good look. The Magnif’eyes 001 Keep calm & wear gold was my favourite, I used Scandaleyes mascara to define my lashes and decided on a natural shade for the lips, which I got using 049 Natural lip pencil and 08 Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick. The end result is a fresh and classic everyday makeup that lasts without requiring any special touch-ups.

Women always seem to be on the lookout for the right foundation, the right shade of lipstick and the right palette of eye shadows to make our eyes even more beautiful. I love to have some of these affordable and efficient products at home, especially in the flood of products that tend to be quite pricey, and if they hint at Kate Moss, all the better!
