It couldn’t be any clearer: this winter is all about colors and so it’s obvious that this wave of playfulness and joy is something fashion lovers are going crazy about. Finally, the stores around here have taken on a pleasantly colorful vibe and they offer warm knitwear in many shades. It’s all quite fluffy, furry, and feathery, sweaters with Christmas motifs are trendy right now, and so are monochromatic knits in bold colors that we usually style with jeans.
A beautiful sweater is the piece that defines your style. You can wear it with a white shirt and a midi skirt, because contrasts are more than welcome, and as you know, an oversized upper part requires a tighter skirt. This is why winter sweaters also look great with tight pants and heels, and if the knit isn’t too bulky, you can simply tuck it in the skirt. You can play with light mohair or cashmere pieces, and all you really need underneath is a brasiere. Opt for red right now, it’s very fashionable; I wrote about it recently and it really brightens up the wardrobe.
You’ll find various motifs. I’m all for Christmas spirit sweaters, although I know they look so much like Bridget Jones, but I suppose that’s part of their charm. Lips, hearts, and stars are just as trendy and make a lovely base for a good style. If you’re not exactly slender and tall, opt for something other than the furry models, which have a widening visual effect; what’s more, their care is a demanding task and this type of sweaters usually only look nice when you bring them home from the store, and what happens later is a different story. Keep in mind that a beautiful woolen sweater is also a good investment, so it’s worth giving it some thought.
Another great way to style woolen sweaters is with elegant trousers; wide-leg models are in at the moment, which gives you an extra reason to wear sweaters indoors and accentuate the look with a beautiful leather belt. A final piece of advice: Mind the length, because there are many short versions in the stores, which are lovely, but pretty much useless for women in their forties.

Fall means sweaters, all kinds of sweaters; knitted, woolen you name it. What’s especially important during this season is color. Lots and lots of color.
Style a colorful sweater with a cool jeans or fun skirt and your little one will definitely make a fashion statement at the schoolyard.

The number one reason fashion girls don’t completely dread winter? Two words: sweater weather.
