I’ve become much more aware of the condition my hair is in these past couple of years, and I find that the right care has a noticeable effect, which makes it an excellent investment in your beauty and well-being. It’s a well known fact that hair is significantly linked to confidence: healthy and shiny hair doesn’t need many accessories, because it clearly shows how much we care. It’s interesting, how we can chose to spend high amounts of money for skincare and decorative cosmetics, and yet we often forget about our hair. It becomes much more sensitive to heat treatments and requires more care including regular haircuts, less aggressive colouring and, undoubtedly, more quality hair masks. Personally, I have a lot of fun with my hair care, I like the ritualistic feeling and the time I spend by using different masks and oils: not only do they smell divinely, they make the hair more supple and camera-ready. I chose six products that impress me so much that I warmly recommend them.
Moroccanoil moisturising mask
I like the fact it’s not too heavy, and I use it once a week instead of a conditioner. The length of my hair makes it impossible for me to comb through it unless I use either a mask or a good conditioner, and considering I don’t comb it otherwise, I like the hair natural or with just a bit of ironed waves, which will last until the next time I wash my hair. The Moroccanoil mask has a moisturising effect and you can read a lot about it, because everyone has a lot of good things to say; it all comes down to the type of your hair, of course, but I believe this is a versatile product that won’t disappoint.
Nashi Argan shampoo and balm
I trust that you know everything there is to know about Argan oil, but these two products are really something. They smell like heaven and the hair is truly supple, soft, smooth and simply beautiful after use. The shampoo, especially, is a must have in my bathroom ‒ also because I use more than one, and change it a couple of times per year to make sure the hair doesn’t get used to it. This line really impressed me, it’s perfect for nourishment and dry ends, feels very light even if I use it every other day, and my hair never seems heavy or dull.
Airbrush Root Touch-Up Spray Oribe
The famous Oribe ‒ one of the greatest hairstylists in the world and owner of this spectacular hair line ‒ came up with the product that instantly fixes grown out roots. There are several different tones; use it when you don’t have the time to go to the salon, you’ve just finished doing your hair up when you realise something is very ungracefully shining from the middle of the parting. The thing to do would be to get a professional colouring, but I think every one of us knows the moment when we have to leave home in a hurry; and if you think your hair is less than kept, tragedy is just around the corner. Double hurray for Oribe!
Orofluido hair oil
I put some Orofluido hair oil on the tips of my hair after every wash, when the hair is almost dry; it smells very nicely and totally protects it from heat treatment, while making sure the tips are much less dried out or split. Orofluido is another line with a long tradition. It’s based on Argan oil and it is actually great. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a body lotion with the hair oil, it smells so insanely good I could just bathe in it … An alluring and longlasting scent that also has an erotic note to it.
Surf Spray Bumble and Bumble
For those moments, when you’re going for either wet look or beach waves style, as if you’ve just come out of the water: spray, lightly massage it by using fingertips and you’re ready. It’s ideal for summer days and you can actually use it on the beach, because the effect is great. The line always provides avant-garde products, and they often surprise with their spot on solutions for the desires of a modern woman. So, if you want to look hot, this is your product.
Moroccanoil dry shampoo
Another must have. It comes in so handy when it’s very warm outside, but above all, when you’re in a hurry and you don’t have time to shampoo. This dry shampoo comes in different colours. I use Dark Tones; I only apply it to the scalp, lightly massage it in, wait a few minutes, repeat the process and the hair is instantly clean. In my opinion, this is a good solution for when I don’t have enough time, yet I still don’t want to wear a ponytail: I prefer to wear my hair down, which means, of course, that it needs to be quite clean. I never leave home without it!
