People are always asking me, which is the piece that I believe made the most significant impact on a specific season, and I am often uncertain, because there may be several. This year’s warm season finally came with a wind of change and here is the one and only piece that I love the most, and has already made an impact in my closet: off the shoulder top. It’s actually a trend I’ve already followed last year, and I’m super excited it has become such a big hit. I think women’s shoulders have never been so exposed or admired, have never been so sexy and sultry, just calling for caresses, kisses and undoubtedly attracting lots of male gazes. I like the frilled tops or the sleek versions and since it’s such a romantic trend, I can’t say less is more, but rather that this sort of trend entails just about everything.

White is a must, so if you haven’t got one yet, this is the place to start. The lace models are wonderful because of their gentle elegance and you can wear them with basic jeans. They allow for so many combinations and interpretations. Light blue is another must have, followed by all pastels and, of course, black that does such a good job of adding a twist to the long summer nights, when you can dance, dine or just talk below the starry sky. You should style this type of tops with espadrilles, slip-ons, vertigo-inducing stilettos and platforms, which are back. Try to choose natural soles, such as rope or cork, which works best with bare shoulders.

Dresses also play an important role here. The long ones are especially magical: bare shoulders and an elastic top, with frills or an A line floor length skirt. Always keep in mind that fashion is all about femininity at the moment, with a bit of Boho style, a splash of the 70’s, braided hair, a smile that reaches the stars and flower scented perfume. I get a feeling this summer, that I don’t need much to boost my confidence: some bare sun kissed skin on my shoulders and, trust me, the world is my oyster.
