I spend a lot of time at work, and countless hours behind the computer, so I know what it means to dress comfortably, and most importantly, wear things I feel excellent in. I used to be able to wear high heels all day long, but I don’t see the point in it anymore. I also know, how important it is to wear the right size to prevent clothing from restricting you, but rather feel like a warm embrace. So here are some suggestions for a workplace outfit, which I strictly follow, and I admit, it makes my life a whole lot easier.
Change your shoes
It might sound very American, but women all around the world are basically the same, and so are our troubles. While high heels may be gorgeous and sexy, it can be exhausting to spend the whole day wearing them. The solution? Ballet flats or sneakers in the office as well as in the car, so you don’t scratch the heels while driving. Change your shoes and save your pretty pumps for when you actually need them. Foldable ballet flats are a great choice, always handy, and one of the smarter buys.
Suit and sneakers
Create some drama: a suit and beautiful, eye-catching sneakers are always a good choice, so why not go with it? Wearing a suit with high heels is another nice choice, but it can come across as quite serious, so it really depends on the occasion and your work environment. Either way, I would advise you to wear less black and more colour, anything from grey, green to blue, white, etc. Make sure the blazer is well and closely fitted, we don’t care much about loose fits.
High waisted skirt
It emphasises femininity and requires some heels; you can opt to wear it with ballet flats, but the cut really comes alive when you’re in high heels. This type of skirt narrows your waist and emphasises the hips, so if you’re of stronger build, make sure it’s not too tight. It’s also better to choose monochromatic models that don’t scream for attention, but rather keep your style more elegant. If you can’t find the right fit, you can use a regular skirt and style it with a wide elastic belt for a similar effect.
Chanel style jacket and jeans
This is a timeless jacket, and it doesn’t have to be an authentic Chanel, of course, as long as it is a shorter model, made of bouclé. I love it, when we can dramatise it with jeans and dress shoes, not necessarily heels. If you enjoy contrasts, you can style it with a men’s shirt for a guaranteed result. Let me just add that this type of jacket is very warm, so they’re the perfect choice for winter, underneath a coat, and even in combination with a high neck sweater.
Something shiny
Because the choice of glitter is not limited to evening wear, it can absolutely be worn during the day! Opt for a glittery accessory: belt, shoes, bag, brooch, or a hair piece, everything is permitted. This adds a formal and chic note to the entire outfit, which is never a bad thing. Special buttons on a regular coat or jacket are a good trick: you can change them yourself to create a completely new look.
