I think we are living in a new era. And this era is changing all the fashion rules known by now. I am a huge fan of the underwear field and I really love to wear intimate pieces for my everyday life. A nice, lace body with a black blazer, a slip on dress which is really sooo sexy, a pajama bottom with a heavy knitwear and sneakers, a pajama blouse with jeans and high heels. A few years ago the pajama trend for the normal daywear became quite a big news. I still remember fashionistas from all over the world wearing nice pajamas for a party event or a special dinner. At the beginning it was quite strange, today it’s awesome! But yes, also the pajama style has changed a little bit.
A sense of humour is the ultimate way to accessorise your sleepwear style. A nudge, a smile and a knowing wink are all you need to pull it off with aplomb. All colours and prints work well and sometimes the bolder, evening colours make the most sense. Stripes are chic and totally on trend. Never forget to add high heels and an evening bag: if you are wearing a silk pajama this is a must combination. The full pyjama look needs height to allow the hem to fall just so: remember it’s really better not to wear ballerinas, sneakers or flats.
If you just wear the top, style it as you would a silk shirt: roll up the sleeves and team with jeans or a leather skirt. The contrast of slinky and tough works well. If you’re working a more androgynous look, keep everything loose and team with a tailored overcoat or jacket. But luxury is always the right key. Beside the amazing Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Intimissimi, have you seen the amazing feather models? In fact they are shown as a beautiful evening wear. I think it’s really cool to choose a pajama set for an important dinner, an evening event or a party with friends. Add something in the hair and don’t forget to sparkle!
Go for silk over cotton – it’s sleeker, more polished and much more forgiving. If you want to be really cool and stylish, then never forget about accessorises and jewellery.
