Have you also noticed how diverse, splendid and simply wearable the shoes and sandals are this year? I have to say I enjoy the low shapes, and even though I will also say a few words about high heels, they’re wedges, which means it’s still a comfortable shoe that requires no special skills. Summertime is when we spend a lot of time in dresses and shorts, which makes it even more important to choose the right footwear. Heels are welcome, although it makes more sense to choose a model our feet won’t suffer in. All of this said, I chose three shoe models I recommend this moment.
Espadrille wedges
These are interesting, because the rope sole gives them a very natural look. Personally, I’m not such a big fan of espadrilles, because they lose shape quite easily and they don’t seem that comfortable to me, but in conversations with my friends, I’ve quickly realised there are big differences in opinion. On the other hand, they do go well with everything: shorts or dresses, maxi skirts, jeans; printed versions are also beautiful and so summery; whichever you choose, however, don’t get them wet, because they just don’t do well with water.
More pompons
I think this is their third season, and that’s ok. Pompons may not be a novel idea, but they’re still fashionable and so lovely. They look best on low sandals with ankle ribbons; and with pompons in every colour of the rainbow, just like they should be. You can find them on some bags, if you’re lucky, and play around with a variety of accessories. Those can be round or fringed, what’s important is that they’re free to hang and dangle!
Metallic sandals (with or without heels)
Golden, silver, and glittery. They’re fabulous, when your outfit is all-white or all-black, because it adds some shine, and that is perfectly appropriate in the summer. They look beautiful, whether totally flat or with a heel, which is usually thicker, so the shoes are usually comfortable. Opt for some shining action at your feet now that your legs are nicely tanned, and a proper pedicure will take care of the rest. Keep your toenails well kept and the colour as wild as you can find!
