I have been thinking for a while now that I should write something about the creams that I regularly use. As a fashion and beauty enthusiast I pay close attention the products that the market has to offer and that help us stay young and more importantly, fit. It seems to me that the fashion industry has made great strides and truly has a lot to offer ‒ maybe even too much. Oftentimes, a woman can get lost in the multitude of products and can lose sight of what actually works and what’s just advertising. The biggest dilemma remains: does a higher price also represent a better quality. Personally, I believe that a high price is related to quality, and packaging as well: beautiful boxes, cool containers, lots of plastic or glass and a marketing campaign with the it-girl of the moment are certainly included in the price we end up paying. I compiled a list of creams that I think are very good, but I would like to emphasise that this is my personal opinion, because the same cream is not necessarily the right match for every woman and every skin type. However, they work for me and are a part of my beauty routine. Due to the fact that I get professional makeup done almost every day because of photo shoots and filming, I prefer serums, which I apply as a base for the foundation instead of a cream ‒ this would feel too heavy. I also use masks and I will write about those as well (I promise!), but this time I want to focus on creams and serums that I find most efficient.
Serum de La Mer. This one is quite difficult to write about mostly because I should exclusively be using superlatives. It is excellent form every perspective; very light, pleasantly perfumed, ideal underneath the foundation as well as the area around the eyes. Usually, creams irritate the skin around my light eyes quite quickly, and I get a burning sensation, but this doesn’t happen with this serum. You get good results with regular use: visibly diminished expression lines around the eyes and lips.
Resist intensive wrinkle repair retinol serum Paula’s Choice. I only discovered this one recently and was very surprised; similarly to La Mer, it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue. To me, this is the key, because the makeup has to be flawless for hours, especially in front of the camera. The name behind this label is Paula Begoun, the founder and innovator of the skin care cosmetic line. Paula, the saviour of our skin is known in the USA as the Cosmetic Cop. Thanks to her work in the cosmetic industry, she is a renowned expert that truly represents the interests of the the consumers.
Super serum lift-remodelant multi-intensif Clarins. In comparison to other serums, its texture is slightly heavier, but at the same time it is less substantial than a creamy water that you could easily wear underneath the foundation. The only down side is that if you’re in a hurry and apply the foundation without waiting, it forms unpleasant little lumps ‒ so wait for it to absorb. I use it in the morning right after I finish my coffee, and give it a good ten minutes before starting my makeup. Just like every other cream, I keep the Clarins in the fridge; the cool liquid wakes me up while making me feel less puffed around the eyes ‒ it has an instantly firming effect. Serums are a great innovation in the field of facial features transformation/renewal. They use plant extracts to affect the volume, and this makes it one of the favourite skin products worldwide.
Silver Bee Venom Mask Heaven. I have already written extensively about this line, so you know I’m quite fond of it. I use the mask instead of a night cream, because it’s substance is not too heavy or too demanding to make your skin feel overloaded in the morning. I find Heaven’s use of the wonderful power of bees miraculous. Once you’ve tried it, it’s difficult to go back. It became known with the help of celebrity endorsements (I have to add that they were personal opinions, not paid ones, which makes it even more valuable), but you can never be sure until you feel it on your own face. This mask is a best seller that helps you achieve the desired results very quickly. And while the line has other products to offer, this one is at the very top of the list.
