Graceful Story

Living a happier life

Recently I have found out there is just one secret: choose again and choose to be happy. To find long-term happiness, you need to retrain your brain from a negative mindset to a positive mindset. Life is full of ups and downs, but in between we have a lot of little victories that go unnoticed. Take a moment to celebrate these small wins. Accepting what we are going through decreases stress and helps us see situations for what they are.

Many of us strive for perfection — we desire to push ourselves to be our best. But in order to be truly happy, you must embrace the imperfection that is part of life. It’s pretty hard to maintain happiness if you hate your job. Don’t waste the best years of your life in a joyless job, even if it’s paying the bills. If you aren’t working a job that is aligned with your passion, it is very unlikely that you will feel fulfilled or truly happy with your life. Discovering what you want to do in life is, for many people, a life-long pursuit. It’s tempting to believe that the more money you have, the happier you’ll be. But the reality is, it’s how you spend your money that helps you feel happier. The key is to do it wisely.

Giving thanks and being grateful for all you have will make you happier and more content. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you have received in life. Happiness is one of the most sought-after goals in life, yet for many it seems to be elusive. It’s easy to delude ourselves into thinking, “When I just have that nice house and new car, then I can be happy.” But in reality, happiness is available to all of us, right now. A big house or a new car won’t actually make you happier; it’s the simple joys in life that bring true happiness. Firsts step: do what you love!
