Covering your entire body in black can look slightly heavy on warm Summer days. Wearing black while showing some skin for a breezier appearance, is the way to go! Think bare legs, crop tops or shorts – find the right balance between garment(s) and skin. I love this long, cotton, laced dress with frills, because of its lightness and elegance; to pop up the look always choose important accessories, like bangles, rings, big earrings or headbands. If total black is too much for you, you can sombine it with a pop of color, with bright hues, or team up with neutrals for a chicer combination.
Black is prized for its understated elegance and endless wearability, but it’s not always the most obvious choice when it comes to summer dressing. Whether you’re getting dressed for a summer day in the city or packing for a weekend away, you can’t go wrong with a romantic dress as this one: never too severe, or sexy, it is the right choice for a smart look – in the city, on holidays, or for a night out. And yes of course we’re looking forward to wearing white, pastels and every fresh new-season shade as much as the rest of them, but black will always have a place in our wardrobes – no matter the season.
The easiest way to wear black on a warm summer day: choose lightweight and breezy materials. A black linen, cotton, silk or chiffon style feels more comfortable with warm weather than black denim for instance, and also looks chic.
My style is as follows: dress Comma, sandals Nine West, bag Chloé, earrings Accessorize, jewelry Isabel Marant and JCrew.
