They say that this summer, powder will take over white’s position completely. It will overshadow it to such a degree, there will actually be no space left for any other shade, meaning head-to-toe powder, and also powder makeup, powder nail polish, and powder accessories. It certainly is a welcome colour, there is no doubt about it, especially on sun kissed skin, because it’s so feminine, and allows for so many interpretations. Powder is actually pale pink, which can turn into a more vibrant pink, or the colour of a latte. A matter of interpretation.
Powder dresses, pants, blazers, and sandals, of course, have been around for a while now, but probably the biggest novelty are swimsuits, because of the freshness they exude in this colour. Must-have pieces entail blazer, jeans, ruffled blouse and high-heel sandals. I personally wouldn’t mind a pair of powder ballet flats, sneakers, or some lingerie; well, the latter is so gorgeous and useful, anyway, especially when you aim for it to remain unseen or unnoticed. Similar goes for bodysuits, because a slightly tanned skin-tone is truly sophisticated.
As you probably know by now, powder is my favourite colour, and when I open my closet, it makes me smile to see 3/4 of my clothes in this shade. I’m not worried about it, because I feel so wonderful when I wear it. It seems to me that every lace, glitter, and frills, come most pronounced when they’re set upon a powdery backdrop, and you can never have too many pieces like that. Another reason why I love powder is that it optically elongates the silhouette, and it’s neutral enough so you can wear it in the summer as well as winter; it’s practically seasonless. A small powder shoulder bag or a normal size handbag is a must-have: use it to style jeans, a suit or elegant dress, it always comes in handy and it’s simply elegant.
Powder-tone makeup looks so fresh and summery: add some blush, some lip polish with a hint of colour, which you can always wear, even at the beach and in the water. Same goes for nail polish: this summer is all about vibrant colours, but there are also some wonderful pastels, which I love. Powder plays an important role in all of this. It’s lovely in combination with a swimsuit in a similar shade, and if it has some frills, all the better. It’s totally sophisticated, which makes it appropriate for evening occasions; there will be quite a variety of glitter and feathers to choose from, which still brings back images of the roaring 1920’s and the Great Gatsby. I think there is nothing more beautiful than powder and feathers, a combination that takes us back in time and manages to keep a sexy vibe.
I love it!

Drab dresses that have been hanging in your closet for years on end: yawn. Mix things up with a soft pink to make a statement in the most subtle, sophisticated way possible.
Rethink the images of bubblegum and hot pinks conjuring in your head, and instead look to blushing, creamy pinks with hints of peach that will go with anything and everything. From head-to-toe, here are the best pale pink options to incorporate into your wardrobe ASAP.
Love this shade on you!
