Springtime is coming with plenty of color and a few unexpected, but potentially exciting combinations. It’s all about contrasting colors, which we will fall in love with, or stand aside with some reservation, but fashion designers have no doubts: The warm season is all about a daring attitude and bold colors will mark our wardrobe. You can already see some new, spring collections in lively shades, and I suppose we could use a piece or two immediately, even in combination with denim or black.
Green and wisteria
A light purple and intense green, both strong and wild, according to Gucci and Mulberry, but they are definitely not alone. 2018 is the year of purple, which we will run into in makeup, be it nail polish or eye shadow. There are many things to watch out for with this combination, because it’s bold and noticeable, while it’s definitely not for everyone, a bit of boldness now and then never hurt anyone, right?
Dark brown and light blue
This is an elegant combination and in my opinion much more wearable than the first. We’ve seen it at Bottega Veneta and we were impressed; contemporary and mundane, blue instead of white, bringing a completely new aspect to it. It’s lovely, when we opt for Cognac accessories‒belt, sandals or bag‒and use them to style with light blue dresses or pants. This is actually a combination you can start wearing now, with jeans, for instance.
Red and pink
A look we have seen before, just like dark blue and black, but it remains new and above all, different. This probably has to relate to the fact that we normally wouldn’t mix these colors, although remember, how we used to roll our eyes a couple of years ago, when we thought of this possibility. Interestingly enough, it works. The pink has to be soft and powdery, and the red cannot be orange. Miu Miu and Preen gave us a lesson in style, especially as the first served us with several options in this style; and if Prada’s little sister says so, she must be right. So let’s wait and be surprised!

Go for a total look: both at work or for a special occasion, you will definitely have everyone’s eyes on you. I love these combinations they are really fine!
When rules were still a thing in fashion, everyone knew some colors could never, ever be worn together, and red and pink were an example of that.
