Another multifunctional piece that we can wear now, when it’s still cold outside, in combination with a down jacket or a wider coat, of course, but also in the spring, when outside temperatures begin to climbe and denim is given a more prominent role. A denim jacket is a timeless piece, just like a camel coat or a leather jacket. You have to have one, simply because you probably have kids and you’re always on the run and it’s a piece that can withstand lying on the backseat of a car without getting all wrinkly, it will come in handy. Perhaps you’ll find yours on sale, or you’ll decide to check out the new collections, whichever you decide, you will wear a denim jacket now and in May, again in September and on until New Year’s.

Winter denim jackets have a woolen or fur-lined collar; personally, I’m not the biggest fan, because they remind me so much of the 90’s. I was just laughing about this with my friend Petra the other day, I told her I used to have a perm back then, only on my bangs, and I looked like a wet poodle…A time to forget. Certain models are very wide, oversized and match well with tight pants for a sporty look. A denim jacket can turn into a coat, become long and is ideal to wear over a dress. We have to mention that the jacket doesn’t have to be dark blue, it can also be white or black or yet another color: pastels are always a good investment, so is black, because it’s so easy to style. If you are a fan of shoulder pads, there are jackets for you as well, they remind me of Star Trek, but in a good way.

Even in the summer, you’ll be able to wear all the models I’ve mentioned, in the evening, for instance over a maxi dress or a jumpsuit. And just as you probably spend some time looking for jeans that fit, so it is with the denim jacket, because you have to mind the length, color and longievity, but not least, the quality. But when you do find your perfect fit, you’ll get lots of wear out of it, giving you fun satisfaction.

To make your denim jacket more fancy, you can wear it with sequins and heels. It’s a fun mix for going out. Try also sequins!
Make a maxi dress work for spring or fall by wearing it with a cropped denim jacket. Wear a light-wash denim jacket with a floaty dress, a medium-wash with florals, and a cropped jacket with a graphic tee.
Denim jackets are the best because you can wear them with literally anything. They usually lend a casual vibe to any outfit, but they can also be dressed up a little bit. They’ll keep you warm without suffocating you, and they don’t cover up the rest of your cute outfit – in fact, they can usually make an outfit even cuter.
