Five models of bags for the soul. Luxurious, expensive, unique, very recognisable. Absolutely fashionable and making your head spin. I know that every single one of us would like to own each and every model, myself included, of course. They really do cost a fortune, but it’s ok to dream, and the right kind of bag really makes a difference, when it comes to the way we look, and our image alltogether. The drawback is, they last forever, meaning you can wear them for ten years on end, and they will still be fashionable. And that’s the problem: we like to experiment and often change models. It’s a good thing that vintage is trendy, so if you’re pondering investing in one, or marrying a well-off prince, rest assured that you can store this type of bag in the closet, and take it out again in a few years. Nothing will be wrong, quite the opposite, they’ll get even more interesting, because they will be imbued with some of your history. Let’s begin.
Saint Laurent Monogramme Kate Small. I love this collection of YSL monogrammed bags. I believe they’re becoming iconic, just like the most classic Chanel. I chose the silver version, because I would wear it day and night, it seems so useful, but only as far as styling and good looks go, because it’s quite obvious you can only fit so few things inside one: keys, a credit card, and a super slim phone.
Charlotte Olympia Barbie® Barbie World Perspex box clutch. Dedicated to the iconic Barbie doll, this clutch is so much fun, it’s so girly and elegant I instantly fell for it. Powder color will dominate over the white this summer, so powder items make for a smart buy. I like the box shape, the mirror, and I like it with jeans, because it looks so youthful.

Chloe Faye Medium perforated shoulder bag. Chloe’s signature pieces are round bags, and they have become largely imitated in the past few years. You can now find them in Mango and Zara, and the shape is very similar, although it’s just not Chloe. This model is a different story. I love the perforated leather and the fact that it gives the perfect shabby chic vibe, just like everything else the brand does. To add a few words about size: you can definitely fit everything you need inside this model. It may be a bit too large, but personally, I forgive Chloe for this, and for anything else.
Gucci Dionysus medium. Is there anything to add? The colours are perfect, and so is the shape and material. This flawless Gucci bag has another forte: what makes it even more gorgeous is the fact it doesn’t even look like Gucci at first glance, which brings a nice element of surprise. Another case of perfect size, this bag also looks great with jeans. I can see it working in combination with simple outfits, because the bag itself adds a nice finishing touch with its vivid colours and playfulness. I’m not going to start a debate regarding the price, because there would not be a point to it, wouldn’t you agree?
Chanel Boy bag. There is a myriad of different models to choose from, because they made a grand entry in 2012, and have remained practically the same since then, but this summers’ collection is an unmatched achievement, where you can browse many patterns, logos, accessories, even jeans versions, which say a lot about whom Chanel stands for nowadays. There is not a fashion model without one, although I believe many of those are knock-offs. No wonder, a Chanel handbag is an object of desire and women can be obsessed with bags. The fact also remains that carrying a little bit of the indispensible Coco around the world with us, is simply priceless.
