Women spend a lot of time wearing pants nowadays and many of us can’t even imagine a life without them. There are countless models, the popular jeans among them, but we can also opt for a more elegant look, which is still comfortable and wearable. Their main seasons are summer and winter; and while they tend to get a bit shorter during the hot summer months, you should know that if you have short legs, your pants should in principle always be longer. High heels play an important role, of course. So, let’s see, which models and patterns visually elongate the legs.
Vertical stripes
It’s clear as day that vertical stripes make your legs appear longer, but there is another problem: what kind of stripes to choose? Not all versions are appropriate for all women, and some striped pants end up looking like your pyjama bottoms, which can be fun and fashionable, but not in all cases, or for every occasion. So opt for wider stripes and soft design, higher waist and obligatory high heels. Style stripes with stripe, as trend dictates and Olivia Palermo perfectly interprets despite her petite figure; just take a look at how spectacularly it works!
Extra wide designs
They have to be long, of course, and worn with a tucked-in blouse to make sure your waistline is visible. Again, wear them with high heel pumps, because that is the only way to make the most of the trousers, and maximise the length of your legs. Opt for monochrome pieces in subtle shades (please, don’t start experimenting with the trendy mustard yellow, green or pink, because that is the quickest route to a style disaster). Wide-leg trousers are a wonderful basis for an elegant style, which makes them appropriate for the office, or a special occasion.
Side-stripe pants
I love this solution, reminiscent of formal tuxedo pants, which I find rather appealing. The contrasting colour of the stripe ensures that this type of pants are noticeable, and a good alternative to classical trousers. Actually, I believe it would be a good thing to wear them more often, even if your legs are long. Side-stripe pants are a sound investment; if you’re looking for an updated design, try a glittery metallic side-stripe, an exceedingly wearable day version, which will give a great boost to your outfit beautifully.
Very high waist
A high waistline changes the proportions of the upper and lower body, which instantly creates the illusion of longer legs. This is also true for the trendy mom jeans. They do seem a bit retro, but they are so useful you have to give them a try. A high waist only demands one thing: to be shown! So tuck your T-shirts and blouses in, pick a lovely belt to emphasise it, and you’ll have a perfect look.
