From canary yellow to glowing amber, the hue has appeared in fine art, pop culture, and high fashion throughout time. Usually, to deem something in fashion a “trend,” three or four designers need to hop on the bandwagon. But every so often (or, more specifically, season), it feels like everyone is on the same page about a certain thing—and anyone could easily spot what that thing is for next season: the color yellow. Daffodils, marigolds, and chrysanthemums have the right idea for Summer. I usually don’t like so much to talk about “the summer colour”, because at the end you find many different shades of everything and for sure not just one colour in the windows of your favorite shops. Nevertheless yellow is a big trend and there are a few pieces you can buy right now.
The yellow dress
It can be just yellow, if you really love the colour, or you can opt for a beautiful lemon print, which is very trendy and nice. Lemons come on a white base, so the whole dress is more delicate and you will be able to wear it everyday. I like the midi length, the puffy sleeves, the bow on the waits and high heels. But of course you can try also with flats, sandals or ballerinas, everything is fine and good.
The yellow blazer
Wear it with white pants or jeans, put in on a simple dress, try it with a normal, white Tee. The yellow blazer is a good option, because it’s different than the black or white one. Plus you will wear it also in September and October! If you love shorts, you can combine it also with a nice pair of silky, cotton shorts, which can be also a kind of bermuda model.
Yellow shorts or culottes
Summer is all about shorts and having them in your closet is always a good idea. They are lovely with a polka dot blouse, a normal white Tee, a simple crop top and a white blazer as well. There are many ways to combine them, keep going with sneakers and leather sandals, flat is just fine when shorts are really…short! Otherwise you can try also bermuda or culottes and maybe play with a more smooth, delicate shade of yellow.
