Latin women are quite popular at the moment, just think about Kim Kardashian and it’s easy to see that curves are relatively popular at least for some men or a part of the population. But curves, including wide hips or strong thighs, require some exercise to make them look firm and feminine. Women can have many problems with their lower body especially after giving birth, which makes sure that our slim body suddenly gets pronounced hips. For some women, this is a matter of their natural constitution and they simply inherited their hips. Fashion can help either way and helps us look beautiful and sexy, even if our body isn’t flawless and we see hips as our problem area. If you find yourself in this category, please continue reading and you’ll find out how and what to wear to give you a slimmer appearance.
There are quite specific rules for you, none of which are actually new, but it’s still good to know which pieces will make you look trimmer. Go for longer, even bell bottom pants with a higher waist; they’re strongly reminiscent of the 70’s and very appropriate. If you prefer skirts, choose a knee length A-line cut, so it’s wide, and can be pleated, but caution please, emphasised pleats also visually add to the volume. If you’re tall, you can get a floor length A- line long skirt that isn’t too tight. Wide sleeved off the shoulder blouses will look good on you: they attract a lot of attention and make sure that it isn’t focused on the problematic lower part of your body. If you’re a fashion aficionada, try culottes or skirt pants and style them with a longer sleeveless cardigan ‒ a soft and light knitted one is perfect for summer days. Definitely consider a narrow belt that will emphasise the waistline and divide the upper and lower part of your body.
Colours can be helpful as well. Please, stay away from too much black, because it’s not the only color you can get away with. Darker shades are certainly going to help, but black isn’t the only dark colour. Opt for grey, blue, dark red or green and brown, they all make your legs seem slimmer. You can even experiment with fantasy prints, just keep it to a minimum, they should be moderate and not overly loud. Play around with colours and patterns on the upper body, that’s where you want the attention to be focused.
Last but not least, I have to disprove some untrue beliefs ‒ the ones that cause you to make certain fashion mistakes that actually make you look wider. Don’t wear T-shirts that are too wide or too long, because they add weight and truly don’t make you look slimmer! Choose the length to your hips, not too short or too long, and above all, choose your size! Don’t emphasize the hips with a belt, because you think that the belt will hide them, that’s a classic mistake! It just makes them all the more pronounced. And, sorry to dissapoint you, don’t wear skinny jeans or pants that are too tight, it’s just not a good look on you, I am sure, however, that in the myriad of different models you’ll be able to find your own; and even if they’re not really tight, they’ll certainly look beautiful. Most of all, they’ll look beautiful on you.
