Today is all about pieces that are appropriate for all women regardless of their confection size, but especially useful for women with some extra weight or simply more curvy figures. There are some must have basic pieces you can use to build the foundations of your wardrobe. Always build your style and image by starting with these and then gradually add to them; it’s easier to get a satisfying end result this way, in addition, you get to play around with the pieces that come and go, while the basic ones always remain in style and wearable.
Basic blazer
Without patterns, no strange shapes, completely smooth (I opt for dark blue instead of black), long enough (reaching approximately to the hips). It’s a top piece that you can wear over plain T-shirts, sleeveless tops and in the cooler season of course, when you can wear it over turtlenecks and knitwear.
Flawless jeans
Not easy to find, but it’s manageable. Go for a higher waist, a nice colour (darker slims you down), they can be a bit shorter to make sure your sandals stand out. The area around the hips and the rear end is the most important, so mind the shape as well as how you feel wearing them, because you’ll be wearing them a lot.
Pencil skirt
Knee length and a straight cut, very proper and feminine, appropriate for every occasion, most of all the workplace. I prefer a higher waist, because it emphasises a woman’s curves beautifully, it must, however, be tailored. Make sure it’s not too tight or too loose.
Wrap dress
Softly falling, reaching your knees, belted, with a V-neck (not too deep), made of jersey (which is the softest), with cap or ¾ sleeves. A truly wearable piece that you simply throw in your suitcase and it always looks good; and I particularly like to see it on women with a fuller figure, because it makes them very sexy and elegant.
The right shoes
The model you should really have is a nude pump: it makes your legs look longer and substitutes the black without a doubt. There are different models of sandals, but you should definitely go for simple shapes, no ankle belts (they require very slender legs); and also sneakers, which are also a nice and simple choice (for example, you can’t top a good white pair od Adidas sneakers, they go with everything and always look nice).
