I am so happy to see that there are so many options out there, and the choice is finally greater than only black or camel. This winter comes with a forecast of a wide array of models, they’re really playful, because they can be in electric colors, with feathers or glitter, timeless classics or asymmetrical, tartan or pastel-toned. Which will you choose? There is only one piece of advice: Opt for the one that will make you stand out. I believe you already have a classic in your wardrobe, so it’s time to opt for something different and quality-made. Mind the materials and wool content, lining and length (maxi coats are in, but they’re not too practical, especially in the car). Make sure the sleeves are either long enough or a 3/4 length, the style of the moment, worn with long leather gloves or a high neck sweater with slim sleeves peeking from underneath the coat. These are some of the best models:
Tartan
Totally fashionable, trendy and wearable, with boots and jeans. I wouldn’t mind one like this, because I know it will last at least a couple of seasons to come. Brown and grey dominate, don’t take it too far with colors, because the tartan itself is special, and that is perfectly sufficient.
Menswear materials
The very materials we find in a man’s wardrobe. Opt for grey and dark brown for a very sophisticated look with high heels and black pants, for a real lady-like feel topped off with a good measure of elegance.
Military style
Gorgeous and sexy, if you ask me. Defined by dark blues, golden hems and buttons, and usually a rather tailored cut. I love the velvet versions, for instance in a forest green or burgundy.
Maxi coat
Maxi coats are very elegant, but not the most comfortable, so I wouldn’t opt for floor-length, but a bit shorter. If you’re not very tall, definitely wear it with high heels, and if you’re tall enough, it also looks great with high boots.
Damask linen
Perhaps they’re not the most suitable for cold winter days, but they definitely are noticeable and will make a woman stand out. They require a lot of attention to detail when styling with other garments, because the fabric is so rich, we shouldn’t overdo the rest of the look. Including jewelry. Try styling them with jeans, it’s a perfect combination.
Pied de poule
It’s a petite Vichy pattern that works as an optical illusion. Personally, I go for the black and white version, because I find it the least demanding, but still very contemporary. Opt for the medium length, as if the coat were a longer blazer; definitely not floor-length.
Color blocking
If you can’t live without colors, you’re going to love this style. With color blocking, you can choose bold colors, which will definitely brighten up your whole look. Pastel tones are also a solid choice, because while they may look more subtle, they’re always fashionable.
Camel
It’s a classic that will never go out of style. You’ll be able to style this tan shade with black, which makes it a fool-proof style. Take a long Max Mara coat as your guide, belted over like a morning robe, making it simply timeless.
Pastel coats
For all the romantics out there, these lovely colors are for you. Don’t limit yourselves to a coat, but incorporate them into your wardrobe and accessories. Pastel coats are fashionable this year, especially baby blue and pink, so you can’t miss, if you opt for one of them.
White coats
I know, they’re delicate, but we can’t help it, they’re so gorgeous! Sophisticated and super chic, they always ensure that you look elegant and give every woman the chance to dress gracefully. Long or short, every length is fashionable, including a longer jacket. Simply heavenly.
