I am truly looking forward to these and I’m quite sure you’ll be as excited about them as I am. This spring comes with a lot of promise and even though fashion usually offers many different styles, I chose five of my favourites for you; they have many reasons to have great appeal. I wish the temperatures were already high enough to go on these fashion adventures, and although they won’t be here yet tomorrow, I still enjoy thinking about them ‒ they simply make me feel good.
Bare shoulders
Whether it’s a top or a dress, the shoulders will play a significant role and to me, they’re just the right amount of sexy. It’s a beautiful look, when they’re exposed, even better, when they have some tan, which will undoubtedly happen in the summer. I love the intensive colours that we’ll keep wearing into the winter of 2017: royal blue, emerald and army green, dark red … and white on top of everything, because it always looks so fresh.
Fringe
Last summer was an abundance of them and they’re here to stay, however, they’ve become more discreet and sophisticated. You’ll still see throw ons, bags, sandals or jackets with fringe; opt for leather and black for basic pieces, while the accessories can be quite colourful, even in pastels. The key piece are sandals with sky-high heels, in a wild colour, like electric blue or fuchsia. This can really be your playground.
Leather
There will be a lot of leather, truly: bags, belts, sandals or shoes, jackets (either biker or more elegant), pants (culottes are the latest thing and they’re really beautiful), skirts (tight or pleated). Get at least one piece and keep in mind that a jacket and pants are basic pieces that never go out of fashion, which makes them an excellent investment. Go mostly for black, although dark blue or red, green, off-white are excellent choices as well.
High waisted jeans
So many fashion bloggers are wearing them, it’s becoming ridiculous, but the 70’s are in the air, even if personally I am not a big fan of this particular style. There are models that are much more wearable, elegant and normal, and a high waist is already more comfortable as it is, which is why I believe that these jeans will thrill you. The waist needs to be visible, of course, so do wear them with a blouse or a shirt, heels and a stunning belt.
Frills
There is a whole wave of romantic fashion that demands a variety of cuts, that’s why you can’t do better than a frilled blouse that is slightly reminiscent of a vintage style. I like them a lot in combination with jeans, because they create an interesting contrast between romanticism and an urban style. Consider a frilled dress, it’s lovely as well, as long as you choose the right length, so not too short. The colours are still quite summery, and white reigns over them.
