I really like them, because they remind me of times past and seem to have a Victorian touch. Although you can wear them with a maxi skirt, like we saw at Erdem, we can actually create even more drama with a pair of jeans. They usually have a very high collar and lots of lace, but we should not be afraid, because it’s a very wearable model of blouse that brought out enthusiasm in every fashionista.
You can admit it, we’re used to everything by now and it’s hard to say, when something’s over the edge. Fashion can be limitless and so can we. A blouse is a handy piece, it may seem tacky at first with all the adornments, or so lavish it’s more suitable for evening wear, but actually it’s an outstanding piece for day wear and every occasion. White color dominates, but there are other shades, especially, if you opt for a material other than cotton. This winter, we noticed quite a few emerald and burgundy models, even ones with a pleated back, so we’re really talking about little masterpieces. It’s not nice to cover them up with a jacket, but let me just say that a leather jacket complements them beautifully.
Even the smoothly finished models have their own charm, because they’re usually buttoned-up to the neck, or the buttons are in the back, which makes that type of model quite sexy. The sleeves are generally very long and have wide cuffs, so they seem retro, yet very sophisticated. If you want to look super elegant, style them with high-waist trousers or a midi pencil skirt. Or you can opt for jeans and sneakers, which will also make for an interesting look. You’ll be able to wear the blouses in the warm season as well, which makes them a sound investment, because they’re timeless.
This is a case, where the general rule that less is more doesn’t apply, I’d sooner say that the luxury is obvious. So be it!
