Nope, it’s not science fiction. Fashion can really help us, because choosing the right wardrobe and specific pieces, which we can style well, can make us look slimmer and also taller. Here I am not going to write about high heels, because anyone can see that the right heel instantly adds to our height ‒ this time I’m going to focus on lengths and the key part of a woman’s body: the waist. You might not believe it, but the waist is the pivoting point of any wardrobe, so pay attention to the width of a belt and most of all, to the golden rules …
Totally flat footwear does not necessarily shorten your legs
It all comes down to what you combine it with; and the key is to move the waist upward, which means you should put away the low waist pants we’ve all been wearing for years. If you want longer and slimmer looking legs, even without heels, opt for a high waist.
Skip Capri pants
So, the length reaching under your knees is the forbidden area, because it optically shortens your legs and that’s not a good look for anyone, even Gisele … Forget about their comfort, because they really don’t make you look better (there are only a few exceptions, especially so with low heels); go for long or even very long, almost floor length pants, they’ll make your legs appear longer. However, keep in mind: almost floor length doesn’t mean the frayed ends should be sweeping the asphalt! Almost means not actually touching the floor.
Long or short skirt
The latter is more appropriate for young girls, but age doesn’t matter with a long skirt. I would advise extra long skirt lengths to achieve a slimmer and taller looking figure, but not the middle ones. Midi, which I otherwise love, isn’t suitable in this case, for instance ‒ if you wear it with heels it will still look good, but it won’t be slimming.
Not only black
It’s true that black makes us look more slender, but at the same time it’s not the only colour with this effect. You can also choose dark blue, grey, dark green or violet. If you want to look slimmer, match your shoes, belt and trousers in the same shade; monochromatic look in general makes you look slimmer and taller, so perhaps try wearing a jumpsuit, it will instantly clarify how the formula works.
Above all, you should mind the lengths and the waist, they’re the most important ingredients in the process of “losing weight with the help of your wardrobe”.
