Life isn’t perfect nowadays, but, it is happier. I certainly like myself a lot more. And a lot of that is down to me pushing myself out of my comfort zone, kindly, inch by inch, by setting personal goals. Personal goals are an agreement you make to yourself to either:
- Start doing something
- Stop doing something
- Do something more
- Do something less
They are not a tool to beat yourself over the head with. Personal goals should be motivating, helpful, and should bring more joy into your life.
I am not a to do list person, but at the end of the year I like to make a short analyze of everything that has been done. I kindly embrace myself, see my improvements, analyze my goals (they can be as big or small as you’d like, but I always recommend that they should be kind) and failures. If life’s feeling overwhelming and sucky, take a pause on your goals until you feel ready to continue.
I don’t like articles that starts like this: Today, I’m sharing easy ways to reset your life for 2023. The fact is I never think we need a total reset, there are always good and not so good things, because life is keeping a balance between everything we get and everything we do. It is like riding a bike, sometimes you fall and that’s ok, until you wake up and just choose another way to ride. We all start off full of enthusiasm for achieving our newly-set goals. We make grand plans and set our sights high, determined to finally achieve that long-awaited goal. However, all too often, that initial burst of motivation quickly wanes, and we find ourselves struggling to stay on track. So: take it easy, never exaggerate, just feel good in your skin and remember that you can’t copy paste the life of your best friend, we all have out own paths.
Take a moment to reflect on how much you accomplished in 2022. There’s no limit to what you can do in 2023! Happy New Year!
