Today, I’m getting deep into stripes, partly because I ran into a coworker who apparently loves this trend as much as I do, so I always catch her wearing a striped T-shirt and it’s clear that just like me, she has more than one. The problem is they all look alike, but I still like differentcombinations: with jeans, trousers, maxi skirt, blazer. I also like striped pants or striped blazers and I know that if I don’t know what to wear in the morning or am not having the greatest morning, stripes are my first and safest choice. Here I wear: Dixie top, Michael Kors skirt, Mabu by Maria BK sandals, Mia Miami bracelet, Monica Vinader rings, Accessorize hat:
I know some women bet on the little black dress, but I still don’t feel so attached to it, because it can seem so strict. Stripes on the other hand smell like summer and there are a lot of them in the warm season. I even got used to the pajamastylesets and although I wouldn’t buy them,I still admire the lookas part of street fashion. Remember, vertical lines elongate our figure, horizontal ones widen us, and we can also combine stripes with flowers, dots, as well as contrasting shades, it’s all allowed.I have an entire stripes section in my wardrobe: Ihave anauticalstyle corner, and I can tell you, it countsmore than a few pieces. Here I wear: Top H&M, blazer Souvenit, pants JCrew, sandals Dorothy Perkins, bag New Cute, bracelet Elizabeth Cole, rings Oasis, earrings Accessorize:
Here I wear: Tee JCrew, jeans Fracomina, blazer Zara, shoes and bag Mango:
That is why I chose some pictures that show stylings from several different moments and seasons, which all prove just how universal stripes are. And when I was perusing the archives for this trend, I couldn’t get over the number of looks I did using stripes and I know that it’s far from over. To me, it’s really hard to say goodbye to striped pieces and this is the worst; I have a T-shirt that I’ve had repaired countless times, but I still wear it, because it gives me a sense of security. You know Cancer is my star sign and I’m a psychologist by profession, so I usually find stories even where there are none. But let’s leave these details, which you’re probably not interested in anyway. These are some of my favorite striped pieces: blazer, skirt, long and short sleeves T-shirt. Lately, I’ve been having a lot of fun mixing prints; it seems to me it’s more than just a trend, it’s become a real fashion challenge. And at my age I can handle a challenge. Here I wear: Top and pants Rinascimento, sandals Steve Madden, bag Rebecca Minkoff, blazer H&M:
And the last look is: swimsuit Women’s Secret, pants JCrew, rings Gold Philosophy.
The more I look, the more I think that I really like all the combinations you can see here and it seems to me that they’ll all still work in ten years’ time. That’s their charm, being timeless in theworld, especially fashion world, that is constantly changing. And so are the pieces I always opt for, because I’m not one for instant anything, not even coffee, when somebody offers me an instant cup.
