Wherever you are in this moment of your life, keep in mind that it won’t be repeated. So dig in deep and try to understand the lessons that you were taught this year. Certain situations probably kept repeating and it’s simply because you haven’t got a handle on them yet. Maybe there’s a friend in your life, who isn’t exactly a friend and it looks like they’re just there to leech your energy, making you endlessly tired. To top that, you’re not satisfied with the money you make or you feel like you could have more. Any way you turn it, you’re right. When you realize that the power of change is in you and you find yourself stuck in a negative situation, you’ve already done a lot for yourself. I’ve already written about the fact every one of us deserves happiness and satisfaction and if it isn’t happening for you, it’s clear that you’ve made a wrong turn somewhere. But you know we’re only human, it happens to all of us and that’s okay, what matters is that we realize it and correct our course. Success can be a relative thing, for some it’s a happy family life, a good job, lots of money, being able to travel whenever you wish to, going to the store and not looking at the price tags, having many friends or only having one…It’s always a matter of perspective and it’s great that we’re so different, because it only goes to show that there is plenty for everybody. Plenty of comfort. Plenty of love. Plenty of positive energy.
Do you know Harry Potter?
To me, he is a hero, I’ve read all of the books and I’d like nothing better than to go to school at Hogwart’s, I know it would suit me. But let’s leave Harry aside and focus on the writer J. K. Rowling. Her story is certainly amazing, because the story about Harry was only a bedtime story she told her daughter and nobody really believed that she could make it as a writer, but there are people among us who don’t pay as much attention to the workings of the world and they’re usually the most successful. What I’m trying to say is that you have to believe in yourself in order to succeed. Don’t believe in what others could do for you, but in yourself. Your own abilities, originality, inner strength and drive. It all starts in the head, so if it’s not there, there isn’t going to be any progress.
Write down and plan
Keep a notebook in your bag, that’s the only way it’ll work. I know this may sound old-fashioned in a time of mobile phones and tablets, but it’s not. Write. Stop your thoughts, take notes, make a plan, improve it, even if you go through it a hundred times, but have a plan. It’s important to keep your thoughts in order, because that’s the way you act and follow the plan. Stay focused and very much open to what goes on around you. Stay away from negative people, unfortunately they’re out there, and stay away from those that are trying to pull you down. They’re not part of your story and you don’t need them. Above all, they level your confidence, which you need to keep intact as well as stay focused.
The big small things
We often miss this bit, but that’s the way it is with people as well as in business. We always look at the big stuff that happen and forget about the small ones that actually allowed for the big ones to happen. Don’t do that. Every small thing, tiny step forward, delicate change enables a movement that gets you one step closer to your goal. Don’t let things, relationships or people get taken for granted. Always keep in mind that finding yourself in a specific situation means that you can get out of it, there’s no doubt about it, otherwise it wouldn’t have been put on your way.. You may not like it, but it won’t be the end of you, never forget that.
Control, but not too much
One way or another, it’s impossible to keep things completely under your control. The best you can do is to alter them slightly and you can’t even always do that. Don’t forget that we should make important decisions, when we’re calm and focused and not in the midst of an wmotional whirlwind, beit anger or fear. The latter changes us completely, even though it’s senseless. Let it go, have faith in yourself and the fact that everything will happen in its own time, which doesn’t mean roght here and now. No use smashing your head against the wall trying to force it, you’ll only hurt yourself and waste energy. Keep control over what’s going on, but don’t let it overwhelm you, because it’s pointless. Let go, take a deep breath and move on.
You can do it!
