Positive thinking can help you to feel happier in your skin. You will be able to feel all the beautiful things around you. But always remember: in the end it’s not about the surroundings, it’s not about the money, a big house, the kind of friends you have. It’s all about how you look at things and how you view the world around you.
To start an amazing day in an amazing way, you have to ask yourself two questions:
- Why today is a great day?
- What I am grateful for?
Positive thinking is not about repeating in your mind things that you don’t feel or hardly believe. It’s more about deciding to see things from another perfective, let us say the good one. And thinking positively really gives you a good feeling. The more you decide to think positively, the easier it becomes. Let’s see together how to respond in an appropriate way to our two questions.
Why today is a great day?
Personally I think there are many reasons. I love weekends, because I have a lot of free time and time for myself. Plus there are a lot of things that I just don’t do! I enjoy watching TV, going for a walk, preparing some delicious meals, reading my lovely books, writing, running, or just staying home and doing nothing. All these things become impossibile during the week, when I am to busy to take care of myself, I drive too much, listen at people that are not so interesting and do things that make me feel tired. But even if there is no comparison between the weekends and the week, I still try to find good answers to the question Why today is a great day: because I will meet somebody interesting, I will laugh, I will make a good job, I will do something good, I will drive and have good thoughts, I will focus on what I have, I will be happy. See? There are infinite possibilities if you want to find them.
What I am grateful for?
This question has an infinite list of answers as well. I am grateful for my amazing daughter and family, for my stunning friends, for all the women in my life, for my blue eyes, my work, my home, my traveling, my desk with all the pens and notebooks, my red lipstick, all my books and magazines, my pink nail polish, my car, my walks in the woods, my staring at the blue sea, my breathing, myself in every shade. I always think that small things make life so amazing. And small steps take us to the goal. So stopping and just admiring how far we are is a good way to start the day. Then embrace yourself, because you have done a lot and yes, you still have a lot to do, but you will make it. We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
